I Walked from Austria to Germany

When I say that I walked from Austria to Germany, it sounds so much more impressive that saying “I walked across a bridge.”  This is an international bridge connecting those two countries. We crossed the bridge on foot. The Austrian eagle is at the top of one arch and the German shield on the other.

I looked back at Oberndorf, Austria.

The Salzach River.

And we entered Germany again at Laufen.

Outside a yarn store this crocheted coverlet graced a water pipe.

The old monastery in Laufen has been transformed into an inn, and this is where we ate lunch today.

It was warm and inviting and I had a wonderful salad.

Before returning to Salzburg Inge stopped at this butcher shop in Laufen. She claimed that they had the best meat  around. The store gleamed with cleanliness.
