Evening Magic...Grand Canal

Taking a round trip on a vaporetto from Santa Zaccharia stop at St. Mark’s Square to the train station and back at the end of the day can yield some lovely photos with light play. Many people do it and the vaporettos are very crowded. It is difficult to get a spot with the view unimpeded.

One of the busiest and most crowded parts of the city…the Rialto Bridge.

Look at the way the vaporetto stirs up the water as it starts and stops. No wonder Venice is sinking.

One of the most beautiful palazzos…the Ca d’oro.

Believe it or not. I met a guy traveling with his ferret.

The lights came on.

It is amazing that Venice is still here. How I would love to see it before it leaves us.

Yes, it is. Venice wasn’t originally a part of my itinerary. I stuck it in at the last minute and I’m so glad I did.
